Here are some frequently asked questions
How long have you been doing what you do and why should I work with you?
I set up a business in PR and events in my early 20′s. I got some great results and made a lot of mistakes. So I can tell you first hand what does and doesn’t work.
I also know exactly what it feels like for things to not be working the way you want them to and how uncomfortable it is to not know what to do next.
After a difficult time in my personal life, I made a decision to turn my life around and start living a life that was more in line with who I am and to help other people with a positive message to promote themselves and their work.
Since making that decision I have had my work featured on websites and in magazines internationally (Click HERE to see some of my press coverage) so I can tell you first hand what did and didn’t work for me and how you can do it too. As a result of the press coverage that I got myself my business grew massively and I picked up some amazing clients and business opportunities.
I’m very ambitious and like to help clients be the same, when it comes to working with people I have a very strategic way of thinking and love to think outside of the box but it’s also important to me that we enjoy working together. Business can be fun!
It’s important for you to work with someone who has gotten themselves the results that you want. I’ve grown my business and income massively from Being My Own Publicist and promoting my work
There is a lot of confusion around PR, how it works and how to get it. So I put down everything that worked for me and my clients and I create the download for Be Your Own Publicist and the coaching programs there after.
What’s it like working with you?
A lot like working with a personal trainer at the gym, we look at the current state of things, how we want them to be and I help to guide, consult and coach you to getting the results that you want but ultimately its up to the client to do the work and take action. I get on well with nearly everyone I work with so it’s an enjoyable process to go through.
Because I’m able to be objective about your business, I’ll be able to point out things that you might not have seen and also be able to show you things that you can do to really ramp things up. Well work on everything from your mind set to your face book page and how to promote your work.
When you say PR most people think about journalists writing about you, and that’s certainly a huge part of it but there are also LOADS of things you can do yourself to generate coverage, which I’ll help structure with you.
I also love helping people to come up with creative ideas when it comes to their business and take things to the next level.
‘Who are your clients exactly?‘
When I lived in London I worked with a number of celebrities and brands in and out of agencies. Now I work with a number of different people on their brand strategy and mind set coaching. The clients who get the best results from working with me are:[lists type="square"]
- Coaches (business and life)
- Small business owners
- Personal trainers
- Beauty therapists
- Performance coaches
- Yoga teachers
- Meditation teachers
- Lifestyle entrepreneurs[/lists]
How are you different from other business coaches or brand consultants?
I believe that the key to doing your own PR starts in the way you think about yourself and your business, Being Your Own Publicist is as much about the way you think as it is about the PR strategies that you use and because of this I teach my clients how to start understanding themselves as a brand and think like a publicist
I use all the traditional PR strategies including social media, how to get featured in the media and how to grow your business but I also focus heavily on helping my clients take a much more proactive role in their results especially when it comes to how many people they are reaching with their work.
What you get with me is a much more mind set focused approach and I don’t think the two have been combined before.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
Be Your Own Publicist is a program created for people who want to get much ore attention for their work and grow their business. I’m a very result driven person, I love to achieve goals and make things happen and I work well with people who are the same. People who have a positive message that they want to learn how to package and promote are ideal clients for me because I know how to get them results. It’s important for our work together that you are ready to take action and do the homework.
When we work together well look at all sides of your business and how to promote them. To get the best results for you, you need to be proactive in following the consultancy given and take action on the points we discuss but above anything, enjoy the process. Its great to watch your business develop.
For what type of person or professional is Be Your Own Publicist NOT going to work?
Please know I’m very selective in who I work with for 2 reasons.
- If I don’t think I can help you with your business then its not fair for me to take you on as a client or for you to spend your money
- If we aren’t a match professionally then it’s unlikely that we will get as good results we could if we were better suited. Make sense?
The Be Your Own Publicist programs are NOT for those who have no money coming in and are financially desperate or in trouble or who are expecting over night results without having to take any action. It is a long term process for growth rather than an over night quick fix.
It’s been my experience that people in financial crisis or who are very new do not trust the recommendations I give them and can come with an “ok, prove this works” attitude
If you fall within this category, it’s absolutely OK. We’ve all been there, you can sign up for the free Be Your Own Publicist tools over email. The free information will get you started towards your goals until you’re ready to work with me one-on-one.
Another type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic sceptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program, its not enjoyable for me to work with people like this and it is a waste of money for them because they wont get results. . If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money.
What exactly is The Be Your Own Publicist program and what does it include?
There are two sides, the mind set stuff which is all about thinking like a publicist, letting go of beliefs which are holding you back (and replacing them with new ones that support you) and understanding yourself as a brand and then the more business side which includes Getting more attention for yourself and your work, raising your profile and building a brand around yourself, there’s also lots of instantly actionable strategies in there to grow your audience.
Its about doing the mental work as much as learning PR strategies. It’s being proactive in creating a clear vision for yourself and your business and then taking serious action on it.
